Google Knol is open now

Most of us think google is just a search engine, itself does not create content. But now google involvement in this area. Months ago google announced that they were testing a new product called Knol. After months' test, now Knol is open to everyone. Knol means a unit of knowledge.
The key principle behind Knol is authorship. Every knol will have an author (or group of authors) who put their name behind their content. It's their knol, their voice, their opinion. If you want to use Knol, you should use Name Verification. You can verify your name in two ways - phone number or credit card. For either method, google will ask for some personal information. After google verified your name, your name will be displayed as verified on Knol.
Knols include strong community tools. Readers can submit comments, rate, or write a review of a knol. A knol can include ads from Google AdSense program. If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with a revenue share from the proceeds of those ad placements.
